Pocket springs and memory foam solve the same problem — supporting your body while you sleep — in very different ways, and understanding the difference makes it much easier to choose between mattress ranges.
Pocket spring cores use hundreds of individually wrapped coils that move independently. This means the mattress responds precisely to the shape and weight distribution of your body, offers strong edge support, and sleeps cooler because air can move between the coils.
Memory foam, by contrast, is a dense, temperature-reactive material that slowly moulds around your body and evenly spreads pressure. It tends to isolate motion well — useful if you share a bed — but can retain more heat and feel slower to respond when you change position.
Many of our collections combine both: a pocket spring core for support and durability, topped with a foam comfort layer for pressure relief. That hybrid approach is usually the best of both worlds for most sleepers.
